Hello there! My name is Emma and welcome to my blog reviewing restaurants in the Edinburgh area.
I’ve lived in Edinburgh since 2009 and have spent quite a bit of time eating out. Previously coming from a town where you could count the number of good restaurants on one hand, the sheer number of restaurants Edinburgh has to offer can be a little overwhelming. After getting asked by several friends for recommendations and suggesting I should start a blog, I’ve finally decided to take the plunge. Whilst I have no intention of being a food critic, I want to help people make decisions on where to try, whether it be a long term resident of the city or a tourist stopping for a short visit. I am also aware that there are some other great Edinburgh food blogs out there and from time to time I may point you in their direction too.
After my initial release of reviews I’ve written so far, I aim to write at least two reviews a month, but more where possible. I will also attempt to populate a list of the highest performing restaurants on my blog for those who don’t want to read everything in detail.
Feel free to get in touch if you want to say hello, ask more details or even suggest somewhere you would like me to review. Other ways to reach me apart from this blog are:

Bon apetit!
Hi Emma,
Nice to meet you.
I have been going through your invaluable reviews. I will be staying at Edinburgh for a month in July and would love tips regarding eating out there (I prefer to try Scottish food, British food, European food, primarily, and in that order).
I must let you know that I am a student, only, and thus perennially broke, which is further aided by my frequent food tours and trying out new restaurants in Kolkata, where I live.
It will be great if you could suggest me great restaurants in Edinburgh to try.
Any links to other great food blogs based in your city is very welcome too.
Thanks and cheers! š

Hi Srishti
Thank you for reading my blog and I am glad you are finding it useful. For a bit of Scottish fine dining on the cheap, you might want to try the market menu at Mark Greenaway. You could also try Howies and Edinburgh Larder for good Scottish food at a relatively reasonable price. At the lower end of the financial scale, The Baked Potato Shop is good, particularly if you try haggis as a topping for the full Scottish experience. You can also try fish and chips, which is quintessentially British. Tailend is fairly popular for this type of food.
Other bloggers who might be worth a look are Lunchquest (who write tons of reviews) http://lunchquest.co.uk/ – My good friend Edinbug http://www.edinbug.com/ – Cup of T https://talorgilchrist.wordpress.com/ – Stacey Orr http://stacebuds.com/ are all great food blogs for the Edinburgh area.
Enjoy your time in Edinburgh in July!
Emma
